Year 11 Physics Review and Transition into Year 12
Review
If you are planning on taking the GCSE exams at some point in the future, or if you are planning on doing A-level Physics you will need to ensure that you have a thorough knowledge of the GCSE Physics course. The following tasks can be completed to ensure this:
1) Complete the SENECA lessons on any chapters that you did not complete before school closed (this will be different for different groups). You will get an e-mail from Miss Lowdon with a code to access all three science courses.
2) Review the whole of the KS4 Physics by listening to the Kerboodle podcasts and completing the Kerboodle retrieval questions for each of the Physics chapters
3) Complete whole past papers and self-assess them with the mark schemes.
Transition to A-level Physics
If you are planning on doing A-level Physics you need to have completed the above. You also need to have completed the following transition tasks.
1) The headstart to A-level Physics CGP revision guide is currently free to download onto your phone or kindle from amazon! This is a revision guide specifically designed for bridging the gap between GCSE and A-level
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Head-Start-level-Physics-Level/dp/1782942815
You should work your way through this book learning and revising the key content and answering the questions. If you do choose to take A-level Physics you will have a test on this content in the first week of the course.
2) Complete the transition task below. You will be asked to show this to your teacher in your first A-level Physics lesson as evidence that it has been completed. The content on this document will also be on the test.
3) Once you have completed the task use the answer sheet below to self-assess your work in green, give yourself a score and a WWW/EBI
4) Extension work: You can complete the questions in this booklet if you wish.
Please be aware you can access the A level Physics text book through your normal Kerboodle log in: https://www.kerboodle.com/users/login
