Biology
Transition to A-level Biology
Every year when we ask sixth form students to feedback on their experience of A-level biology we hear the same thing. It is enjoyable, it is interesting, but it is hard work. The A-level course requires a students to have a good grasp of GCSE Biology and Chemistry so that the fundamentals of these sciences can be applied to the new content learnt in year 12 and 13 Biology. The head start to A-level Biology CGP revision guide is a revision guide specifically designed for bridging the gap between GCSE and A-level I would highly recommend reading and taking notes from this before September

Transition Task
If you are planning on doing A-level Biology you need to have completed the following transition tasks
Complete the transition task below. You will be asked to show this to your teacher in your first A-level biology lesson as evidence that it has been completed. The content on this document will also be on the first test.
Note: You can download printable graph paper from the internet if this will help you with the graph questions.
Once you have completed the task use the answer sheet below to self-assess your work in green writing in corrections.
A recommendation from a year 13
A current year 13 Biology students has e-mailed me to say that she has found a biology based colouring book on amazon. She said she has found it both a good way to relax whilst reinforcing some of the key concepts that are covered in the A-level course. If this is something you think you might enjoy I have put the link below:
