GRIT

The GRIT curriculum was designed by teachers at Bishop Stopford. It has two major themes: resilience and teamwork

Resilience is the ability to be happy and successful again after something difficult or bad has happened to you. It is sometimes referred to as 'Bouncebackability' - watch the short video from the Beano below which explains what 'Bouncebackability' is all about.

We believe if we can get you into resilient habits of mind from Year 7, and really understanding the benefits of teamwork, this will pay dividends as you move through school.

Based on our research, we know that Year 7s, if they had a choice, would do more Drama or PE. With that in mind, we have timetabled GRIT into rooms with no desks or chairs to enable learning to take place using some of the principles and methods of those subjects.
